At Verde Pastures Spanish Academy, our curriculum is intentionally designed to develop bilingual, confident, and curious learners. We combine research-based academic programs with hands-on, nature-based experiences that inspire children to think critically, communicate confidently, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Every learning experience is thoughtfully aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and nurtures the academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of the whole child

🇪🇸 Spanish Language Arts
Using Estrellita, Heggerty en Español, and Amira, students develop strong literacy foundations, phonological awareness, reading fluency, writing skills, and a lifelong love for the Spanish language. Through daily immersion and personalized reading instruction, children become confident bilingual thinkers, readers, and communicators
🇺🇸 English Language Arts
Students build essential literacy skills through Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Amira, and our Reading & Writing Workshop model. With personalized, AI-powered reading practice, students strengthen decoding, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing while growing into confident, expressive readers and writers.
➕ Mathematics
We use Singapore Math: Dimensions, an internationally recognized curriculum that emphasizes deep conceptual understanding rather than memorization. Students develop mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that prepare them to confidently apply mathematics to everyday life.

Science comes alive through hands-on experiments, STEM challenges, inquiry-based investigations, and outdoor exploration. Students learn to ask meaningful questions, test ideas, observe the natural world, and think like scientists.
🌎 Social Studies
Students explore history, geography, cultures, economics, and communities through project-based learning that fosters curiosity, empathy, and a global perspective while helping them understand their role in the world.
🌱 Gardening
Our gardens serve as living classrooms where students plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Through these authentic experiences, children learn about plant life cycles, ecosystems, nutrition, sustainability, and environmental stewardship while developing responsibility and a deeper connection to nature.
🐐 Farm Education
Our farm is an extension of the classroom. Students regularly care for and interact with our farm animals, learning responsibility, compassion, and respect for living things. These meaningful experiences reinforce science concepts while building confidence, empathy, and an appreciation for agriculture and the natural world.
🎨 Arts & Movement
Creativity, movement, and self-expression are woven throughout every school day. Students explore visual arts, music, dramatic play, and physical education while developing confidence, collaboration, healthy habits, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
✨ Enrichment
Students expand their learning through engaging enrichment classes including Financial Literacy, STEAM, and Dance, where creativity, innovation, leadership, collaboration, and real-world skills are nurtured in meaningful ways. Our enrichment activities include music and community bonding, ensuring a truly well-rounded education.
Technology That Personalizes Learning

We utilize technology purposefully to enhance and personalize the learning experience. Through the use of Amira, an AI-powered reading tutor, students receive personalized reading practice and real-time feedback that helps them build fluency and confidence. Amira listens to students read, identifies their unique needs, and provides targeted support in both Spanish and English, ensuring that every child receives the individualized instruction they need to grow as a reader.
